• User Content: GPS coordinates of saved blinds, decoy spreads, photos, hunt logs
• Payment Information: Processed by Stripe (we don't store credit card numbers)

B. Automatically Collected Information

• Location Data: Real-time GPS for weather, tide, and wind forecasts (only when app is in use)
• Device Information: Device model, OS, unique identifiers
• Usage Data: Features accessed, time spent, navigation patterns
• Sensor Data: Compass heading, accelerometer (for AR features)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide Core Services: Wind/weather forecasts, tide predictions, season dates, blind rankings, push notifications
• Personalize Experience: Remember saved blinds, customize content
• Improve Services: Analyze usage, debug errors, optimize performance
• Communicate: Send alerts, updates, respond to support requests
• Ensure Security: Detect fraud, enforce Terms of Service

3. Data Anonymization and Aggregation

Anonymized data means: Your identity cannot be determined, GPS coordinates are rounded to regions, personal identifiers are removed.

You cannot opt out of anonymized data collection, but it cannot be traced back to you individually.

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We Share Your Data With:

• Service Providers: Clerk (auth), Supabase (database), Stripe (payments), OpenWeatherMap (weather), NOAA (tides)
• Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights
• Research & Conservation: Anonymized data with conservation organizations, researchers, wildlife agencies

We Do Not:

• Sell your personal information to data brokers
• Share your exact GPS coordinates without consent
• Provide your email to marketers (unless you opt in)

5. Data Retention

• Account data: Until you delete your account
• Location data: Stored for active blinds; deleted when removed
• Usage logs: 90 days
• Payment records: 7 years (tax/legal compliance)
• Anonymized data: Retained indefinitely

6. Data Security

• Encryption: Data encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
• Access Controls: Limited employee access
• Secure Infrastructure: Hosted on Supabase with regular audits
• Password Protection: Passwords hashed and never stored in plain text

No system is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.

10. Children's Privacy

BlindBuddy is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Under 18? You must have parental consent to use the App.

11. Push Notifications

We send notifications for wind shifts, weather alerts, GooseBump score changes, and season reminders.

Disable: In device settings or App settings (Me > Notifications)

12. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Material changes communicated via: In-app notification, email, homepage notice

13. International Users

BlindBuddy operates in the United States. If accessing from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S.
